\u2014<\/span>Introduced<\/span><\/a> a bill banning “flags with a political viewpoint” in government buildings, explicitly targeting LGBTQ pride flags along with other flags. He promoted baseless and defamatory LGBTQ \u201cgrooming\u201d misinformation in his press release that described \u201cfictional country flags like \u2018Palestine,\u2019 pro-violence \u2018Black Lives Matter\u2019 flags, woke and pro-grooming ideological flags, and the flags of any political candidates in government buildings.\u201d The LGBTQ Pride flag is widely recognized as a symbol of identity and inclusion. It does not represent a specific political perspective. The anti-LGBTQ <\/span>\u201cgroomer\u201d trope<\/span><\/a> has resurfaced in recent years and endangers LGBTQ people, targeting them for violence, and endangers understanding of actual child abuse.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2014<\/span>Tweeted<\/span><\/a> an unfounded attack on LGBTQ people and an NBC reporter writing, \u201cThe perverts who wish to groom our children will stop at nothing to achieve their ends.\u201d The anti-LGBTQ <\/span>\u201cgroomer\u201d trope<\/span><\/a> is dangerous hate speech which has been popularized to foment fear and hatred, and ultimately violence, against LGBTQ people.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2014<\/span>Defended<\/span><\/a> a bill banning minors from attending drag shows, <\/span>stating<\/span><\/a>, without basis, \u201cIf it means erasing a community because [LGBTQ people] have to target children, then, damn right, we ought to do it!\u201d The text of the <\/span>bill describes <\/span><\/a>\u201cadult live performance\u201d as \u201cany show, exhibition, or other presentation in front of a live audience which, in whole or in part, depicts or simulates nudity, sexual conduct, sexual excitement, or specific sexual activities.\u201d Fine\u2019s wife, Wendy Fine, co-hosted an annual gala \u201cfilled with sultry performers<\/a>,\u201d which she has previously performed wearing lingerie and revealing costumes, to raise money for a children\u2019s charity.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2014<\/span>Signed<\/span><\/a> legislative subpoenas including baseless and inflammatory claims demanding that the Florida Psychiatric Society and the American Academy of Pediatrics\u2019 Florida Chapter produce \u201call materials justifying their recommendation that castrating and mutilating children is \u2018gender affirming care.\u2019\u201d In fact, <\/span>every major medical association<\/span><\/a> supports health care for transgender people and youth as safe and lifesaving.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2014<\/span>Filed HB 1421<\/span><\/a>, the so-called \u201cTrans Ban Bill,\u201d which bans transgender health care for youth, restricts access to private insurance coverage for care, and denies legal recognition of transgender people on birth certificates. The bill passed and was signed into law.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2014<\/span>Voted<\/span><\/a> in favor of CS\/HB 1475, a bill barring transgender girls and women from playing on girls’ sports teams at public schools. The bill passed and was signed into law.<\/span><\/p>\n
