They reflect an understanding that conversion therapy causes devastating harm, contributing to depression, anxiety, homelessness, and tragically, suicide. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.statista.com\/statistics\/1053024\/lgbtq-youth-in-us-attempted-suicide-conversion-therapy-experience\/?utm_source=chatgpt.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Studies<\/a> show\u00a0that 25% of LGBTQ youth who had undergone conversion therapy had attempted suicide within the previous 12 months\u2014a stark reminder of the irreversible damage these practices cause.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1858\" data-end=\"2423\">According <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetrevorproject.org\/survey-2023\/#anti-lgbtq-policies\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Trevor Project<\/a>, nearly 1 in 3 LGBTQ young people said their mental health was poor most of the time or always due to anti-LGBTQ policies and legislation, including conversion therapy.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2425\" data-end=\"2810\">The legal challenge by Missouri\u2019s Attorney General could have devastating consequences for LGBTQ youth, who are already at higher risk for mental health struggles and violence.
