\u2014Created<\/a> a new Title IX Special Investigations Team focused on preventing transgender women and girls from women\u2019s and girls\u2019 sports teams and restrooms. The Departments of Education and Justice jointly said that this team will \u201cprotect students, and especially female athletes, from the pernicious effects of gender ideology in school programs and activities.\u201d Title IX was enacted by Congress in 1972 to protect students from discrimination \u201con the basis of sex.\u201d NCAA President Charlie Baker testified<\/a> in December 2024 that he knows of fewer than ten transgender college student athletes among 510,000 athletes total.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2014Is the chair of the board at the America First Policy Institute, a conservative think tank <\/span>she launched<\/span><\/a> with other former Trump administration officials<\/span> in 2021. The nonprofit espouses an anti-trans stance, claiming to combat what it calls \u201cradical gender ideology\u201d and opposing initiatives that support LGBTQ rights. The organization has campaigned against policies that support transgender rights in education. This includes efforts to restrict participation of transgender athletes in sports and push back against federal protections for transgender students under Title IX. In fact, transgender people are people, not an ideology.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2014Criticized of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives, stating in a <\/span>Fox News op-ed<\/span><\/a> that DEI measures are \u201cnot pertinent to the training of skilled workers\u201d and that these policies \u201cincrease costs and administrative challenges across all apprenticeship programs.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2014During her tenure at WWE (1989\u20132009), McMahon <\/span>oversaw homophobic and misogynistic<\/span><\/a> content including matches that featured homophobic slurs and violent portrayals of LGBTQ characters, which perpetuated harmful stereotypes and contributed to a culture of intolerance in the wrestling community. <\/span>Outsports<\/span><\/a> reports that among the most egregious those examples \u201cis a oft-forgotten match between Tyson Tomko and Steven Richards at Unforgiven 2004. Richards, dressed in drag and dubbed the \u2018Mystery Woman,\u2019 was beaten mercilessly as Tomko stripped him down to his underwear and verbally berated him with homophobic and transphobic slurs\u2026 The vetting file also highlighted the level of violence used against the LGBTQ-coded Goldust character during a \u2018Backlot Brawl\u2019 match at Wrestlemania XII in 1996. Goldust, portrayed by current AEW wrestler Dustin Rhodes, regularly used homoerotic advances to garner boos from the audience during the character\u2019s early days. That framing led to violent responses from babyfaces that could easily be characterized under the heavily criticized gay panic defense. That match also ended with the coded character being stripped in-ring.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
