The Equality Act is a bill that would amend the Civil Rights Act of 1964 to prohibit discrimination based on sex, sexual orientation, and gender identity.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2014<a href=\"https:\/\/americanprinciplesproject.org\/legislation\/elise-stefanik-becomes-third-republican-drop-support-pro-transgender-bill\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Withdrew<\/a> her co-sponsorship of the Fairness for All Act, which would have added sexual orientation and gender identity to civil rights law.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2014<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/stefanik.house.gov\/2023\/4\/stefanik-votes-to-protect-the-future-of-women-s-sports\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Voted<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for the so-called Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act, which aims to prevent transgender athletes from competing in women&#8217;s sports.
