class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to the 2020 US Census, the population of people who are multiracial is growing rapidly, with people who selected two or more races being the youngest of any race category, an increase of over 200 percent between the 2010 and 2020 censuses. This population is also growing on TV, with over ten percent of roles on broadcast, cable, and streaming being multiracial, according to UCLA\u2019s 2023 Hollywood Diversity report.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As for multiracial LGBTQ representation this year, broadcast counted four (six percent) multiracial characters out of 64 LGBTQ characters. This is a decrease of six characters and four percent from last year. These include Dennis on ABC\u2019s <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Not Dead Yet, <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Travis on ABC\u2019s <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Station 19, <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Roxy on CBS\u2019s <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">FBI: Most Wanted<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and Lucy on The CW\u2019s <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Family Law.\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On scripted primetime cable, there is one multiracial character out of 77 (one percent). This is a decrease of five characters and three percent. That character is Eliza on Freeform\u2019s now canceled <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Praise Petey.<\/span><\/i><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Of the 327 characters counted on scripted streaming originals, 32 (ten percent) of them are multiracial. This is an increase of 23 characters and seven percent. Highlights include trans character Sol on Amazon\u2019s <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With Love <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">nonbinary teen Darren on <em>Heartbreak High<\/em>, as well as <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">lead Ed \u201cBlackbeard\u201d Teach on Max\u2019s <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Our Flag Means Death<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">lead Mia on Netflix\u2019s <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Everything Now<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, which have both been canceled.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Of the total 468 characters counted across all platforms 37 (eight percent) are multiracial, an increase of 12 characters and double the percentage of last year.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-2ac48f8 post-content elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"2ac48f8\" data-element_type=\"widget\" Characters<\/h3>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-4639e76 post-content elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Of the 64 LGBTQ characters counted on the five broadcast networks, <strong>six percent<\/strong> (four) are multiracial.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Of the 77 LGBTQ characters counted on cable networks, <strong>one percent<\/strong> (one) are multiracial.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Of the 327 LGBTQ characters counted on eight streaming services, <strong>ten
