\u2014In a campaign debate<\/a> hosted by The League of Women Voters of Kentucky, multiple times misgendered transgender student athletes by calling them \u201cbiological boys.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2014<\/span>Focused<\/span><\/a> campaign for governor on targeting transgender youth, who make up an estimated 0.7% of Kentucky\u2019s 13\u201317 population\u2014including false and inflammatory ads that describe a \u201cradical transgender agenda\u201d while inaccurately conflating people in drag with being trans. The ad falsely claims \u201cIt\u2019s bombarding our children everywhere we turn. Child sex changes with permanent consequences.\u201d Every major medical association <\/span>supports<\/span><\/a> health care for transgender people and youth.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2014Falsely <\/span>claimed<\/span><\/a> in campaign event where \u201cAnti-trans rhetoric [was] again at forefront,\u201d that Gov. Beshear was \u201cdemanding that boys play in girls\u2019 sports\u201d and \u201cprotects transgender surgery for kids.\u201d Gov. Beshear vetoed a bill that bans transgender girls from girls\u2019 school sports, and vetoed another bill that banned essential health care that\u2019s supported by every major medical association and removes parents\u2019 rights to make health care decisions for their children.<\/span>
\n<\/span>
\n<\/span>\u2014Falsely called health care for transgender youth \u201c<\/span>child mutilation<\/span><\/a>.\u201d Health care for transgender youth follows clinical protocol and guidelines established by WPATH <\/span>Standards of Care<\/span><\/a>, created with the best available science and expert professional consensus, and rarely includes surgeries. The judge noted that Kentucky\u2019s ban,<\/span> SB 150<\/span><\/a>, also unfairly and unconstitutionally singles out transgender youth by blocking access to health care that cisgender youth can still receive<\/span>
\n<\/span>
\n<\/span>\u2014<\/span>Defended<\/span><\/a> Kentucky\u2019s abortion ban to the U.S. Supreme Court, which bars the procedure after six weeks of pregnancy, including for children who get pregnant, and all cases of rape and incest. Abortion is an LGBTQ issue. <\/span>Research<\/span><\/a> shows lesbians are more likely to have experienced an unwanted pregnancy (at 39%) than heterosexual (27%) and bisexual (29%) peers.<\/span>
\n<\/span>
\n<\/span>\u2014<\/span>Endorsed<\/span><\/a> by former President Donald Trump, whose administration and campaign targeted LGBTQ Americans with more than <\/span>200+ attacks<\/span><\/a> in policy and rhetoric. Cameron reiterated that he was <\/span>honored<\/span><\/a> to receive the endorsement, even after Trump was found liable for sexually assaulting E. Jean Carroll.<\/span>
\n<\/span>
\n<\/span>\u2014The Office of Attorney General, which Cameron leads, is <\/span>accused<\/span><\/a> of harboring a toxic work environment and gender discrimination by an active-duty detective. Charges include employment discrimination, hostile work conditions, workers\u2019 compensation retaliation, workplace violations including \u201cimmoral conduct,\u201d \u201cuse of intoxicants off-duty,\u201d and capturing \u201czoomed in\u201d photos of a detective\u2019s breast as well as \u201cunprofessional and bullying behavior.\u201d<\/span>
\n<\/span>
\n<\/span>\u2014Joining other attorneys general in a <\/span>lawsuit against the FDA<\/span><\/a> over a policy prohibiting the discrimination against LGBTQ children regarding school lunch. <\/span>
\n<\/span>
\n<\/span>\u2014<\/span>Signed an inaccurate letter<\/span><\/a> about Pride merchandise sold at Target. The letter baselessly claims the signatories are compelled to \u201cenforce state laws protecting children.\u201d No obscenity charges have been filed against Target, nor have any fiduciary complaints been reported.<\/span>
\n<\/span>
\n<\/span>\u2014<\/span>Campaigned<\/span><\/a> with former University of Kentucky swimmer Riley Gaines, who has built a career <\/span>spreading<\/span><\/a> disinformation about transgender people, including falsely comparing being transgender with the racist caricature of white people wearing <\/span>blackface<\/span><\/a>. Gaines recently <\/span>encouraged<\/span><\/a> retaliation against libraries and library staff that refused to allow speakers to misgender people, a violation of library policy. A bomb threat later forced evacuation of the library and an elementary school.<\/span>
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2014Mocked pronoun usage in a campaign event, claiming his opponent\u2019s pronouns would soon be \u201c\u2018has\u2019 and \u2018been.\u2019\u201d and criticized the governor for protecting \u201ctransgender surgeries for kids.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2014<\/span>Sued the Biden administration<\/span><\/a>, along with 19 other attorneys general, claiming the anti-discrimination directive regarding student participation in school sports and bathroom and shower accommodations for transgender people infringe on state\u2019s rights.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2014<\/span>Baselessly tweeted<\/span><\/a>: \u201cChildren should be free from the influence of radical gender ideology\u201d in response to Target offering Pride merchandise.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2014<\/span>Asked<\/span><\/a> the city of Louisville to drop its appeal of a ruling that allowed a local photographer to refuse service to same-sex couples. Louisville\u2019s Fairness Ordinance allows a person to file a discrimination complaint if they go into a restaurant, bar, or any public business and is denied service because they\u2019re a member of the LGBTQ community.
