He said the new law will have devastating repercussions for transgender youth who are already undergoing various medical treatments. &#8220;My own personal view that this is too extreme, it was too broad and did not grandfather in those young people who are currently under hormone treatment,&#8221;\u00a0Hutchinson told NPR.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014Signed into law legislation allowing doctors to<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbs.org\/newshour\/politics\/arkansas-governor-signs-bill-allowing-medical-workers-to-refuse-treatment-to-lgbtq-people\"> refuse to treat LGBTQ patients<\/a> based on religious or moral objections. Types of care that could be denied include treatments for transgender patients, in-patient care for an infection, or grief counseling for a same-sex couple.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014<a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/news\/politics\/2015\/04\/02\/arkansas-religious-freedom-bill\/70831330\/\">Signed into law a revised religious freedom<\/a> bill that could allow discrimination against LGBT people.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014Refused to veto and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/blogs\/govbeat\/wp\/2015\/02\/23\/that-anti-gay-bill-in-arkansas-actually-became-law-today-why-couldnt-activists-stop-it\/\">allowed to become law<\/a> a discriminatory bill that prevents cities and counties from enacting civil rights protections of LGBTQ people. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/feature\/nbc-out\/arkansas-court-rules-city-can-t-enforce-lgbtq-protections-n965646\">The law was cited<\/a> by Arkansas&#8217; highest court when it stripped Fayetteville from the ability to enforce its own anti-discrimination
