\u2014Because<\/a> of marriage equality: \u201cI warned about this years and years ago that it was going to happen and it did, it has. What\u2019s next? What\u2019s next is what happened to Sodom and Gomorrah. It is just a question of how soon the wrath of God is going to come on this land.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2014Most trans people<\/a> are \u201cfrauds.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2014Insists<\/a>: \u201cYou know, those who are homosexual will die out because they don\u2019t reproduce. You know, you have to have heterosexual sex to reproduce. Same thing with that church, it\u2019s doomed, it\u2019s going to die out because it\u2019s the most nonsensical thing I\u2019ve heard in a long time.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2014Compares gay people (and their supposed ability to \u201cchange\u201d) to thieves, rapists, and murderers<\/a>: \u201cIt is a hate crime to say somebody can change their sexual preference? … Anybody who has ministered to thousands of people \u2026 know[s] very well that the power of God can change people\u2019s orientation. A murderer can change. A rapist can change. A thief can change. That\u2019s what the Gospel is about. It\u2019s not a hate crime.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2014Claims HIV+ gay people in San Francisco and other cities use special rings to cut and transmit the virus to others<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u2014Claimed out lesbian Equal Employment Opportunity Commissioner Chai Feldblum \u201cflies in the face of the traditional morality in this country<\/a>.\u201d (9:20-9:27)<\/p>\n

\u2014Of LGBTQ rights groups<\/a>: \u201cSome of these radical gay groups are willing to do anything in the world to have their way of doing sex legitimized by this country. They\u2019ll tear down any institution, the church\u2014the Episcopal Church, for example\u2014in order to have their way, and it\u2019s basically wrong.\u201d (:53-1:14)<\/p>\n

\u2014On Feminism<\/a>: \u201cFeminism is a socialist, anti-family, political movement that encourages women to leave their husbands, kill their children, practice witchcraft, destroy capitalism and become lesbians.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2014On Christian acceptance of LGBTQ people<\/a>: \u201cYou want to be loving and warm and let them know that you love them, BUT you cannot accept it and you cannot be an enabler. If they\u2019re living together as a homosexual and you\u2019re a Christian you cannot say I accept this lifestyle. Right now there\u2019s an incredible barrage of activity forcing people to accept the homosexual lifestyle. Well, do we accept adultery? Do we accept fornication? Do we accept immorality? \u2026 Well, the answer is no. I don\u2019t think we ought to be accepting of it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2014After NY state legalized same-sex marriage, offered this<\/a>: \u201cI think we need to remember the term sodomy came from a town known as Sodom and Sodom was destroyed by God Almighty and the thing that they practiced was homosexual activity and even they tried to rape angels who came down there, so that\u2019s the kind of people they were. But beyond that, Jesus when He spoke of Sodom He didn\u2019t say anything about the homosexuality he talked about just the fact that business was as usual until God decided to destroy it. And He sent an angel down there and He said to Lot and his family, \u2018get out now because I\u2019m gonna destroy this whole area.\u2019 That\u2019s where sodomy came from, we use the term sodomy and it means Sodom. What\u2019s it like? We\u2019re heading that way as a nation. In history there\u2019s never been a civilization ever in history that has embraced homosexuality and turned away from traditional fidelity, traditional marriage, traditional child-rearing, and has survived. There isn\u2019t one single civilization that has survived that had openly embraced homosexuality. So you say, \u2018what\u2019s going to happen to America?\u2019 Well if history is any guide, the same thing\u2019s going to happen to us. We\u2019re on a slippery slope and it\u2019s going to kick over in a hurry. We\u2019re looking at financial problems of huge magnitude\u2026. I think we need all of God\u2019s help we can get. I don\u2019t think we\u2019re exactly setting ourselves up for his favor.\u201d (12:59-15:01)<\/p>\n

\u2014After Secretary of State Hillary Clinton made a speech to the U.N. encouraging dignity for LGBTQ people abroad, Robertson predicted<\/a>: \u201cYou know, there is a God in heaven and He is just. Thomas Jefferson, \u2018I tremble when I remember that God is just.\u2019 He is just, he is not going to allow this kind of thing to go on forever. This country cannot continue to violate God\u2019s principles and to make a mockery of His laws and think we\u2019re going to get away with it. And when the blow comes, it\u2019s going to be horrible.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2014Advice to the sister of a lebsian<\/a>: \u201c You say, \u2018should I go to my sister\u2019s wedding, should I participate,\u2019 the answer is to tell your sister, \u2018I love you but I cannot participate in a ceremony that is contrary to God\u2019s word, period.\u2019 If she doesn\u2019t like it, if that breaks the union between you, that\u2019s tough luck.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2014Tells a father of a gay son that he should encourage \u201cex-gay\u201d therapy, instructing that \u201cnormally speaking, a person who has acquired this can un-acquire it.\u201d<\/a> (:53-:59)<\/p>\n

\u2014Advice to the friend of a prospective gay parent<\/a>: \u201cI know about what happened when a young man was taken away from his Christian mother by a court and given to his homosexual father. And the next thing you know, that guy was a flaming homosexual, and if I\u2019m not mistaken, he contracted AIDS\u2026. To take on somebody else\u2019s child is difficult enough, but to do so in a homosexual environment where the contacts that the man is going to be having\u2014his various male lovers coming in, and this youngster\u2019s going to be exposed to all that? The answer is: this would be a terrible environment. So if there\u2019s any way you can do it subtlety [sic] say, \u2018Look, Jesus loves you, but I think right now we ought to get you straightened out before you start taking on some other responsibility.\u2019 A life of a child is very significant, and that won\u2019t be a help for him.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2014Robertson spoke approvingly<\/a> of a person leaving their spouse if they had Alzheimers. He said he wouldn\u2019t \u201cput a guilt trip\u201d on someone for divorcing a spouse with Alzheimer\u2019s disease, calling Alzheimer\u2019s itself \u201ca kind of death.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2014Claims gay marriages \u201cdon\u2019t \u2018bring forth anything except disease and suffering<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2014Robertson attacked Planned Parenthood<\/a>: \u201cPlanned Parenthood has gotten 100 million dollars\u201450 million each\u2014from the Ford Foundation and the Rockefeller foundation. Why do these wealthy so-called Republican organizations pay for it? Because they were alarmed by the growth of the Black community and they didn\u2019t want to have to support a bunch of indigent Black babies.\u201d (0:46\u20140:59)<\/p>\n

\u2014Robertson on the National Organization for Women<\/a>: \u201cNOW is saying that in order to be a woman, you\u2019ve got to be a lesbian.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2014Claims<\/a> \u201cso many people who are in the so-called homosexual lifestyle found that some camp counselor, some coach, some older person, older teenager or whatever, had started them on the road to homosexuality\u201d; prays they will be freed from the \u201cso-called homosexual lifestyle.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2014Claims that many gay people<\/a> \u201care into this homosexual thing because they\u2019ve been abused by a parent, abused by a coach, abused by a sibling, abused by a friend, they\u2019re little boys and little girls and they don\u2019t know any better and then they somehow think, \u2018well I must be gay,\u2019 they aren\u2019t they are heterosexual and they just need to come out of that.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2014Again equated homosexuality with murder, lying, disobedience<\/a>: \u201cGod knows your sin. Some of you have been involved in homosexuality, some of you have had an abortion, some of you have actually committed murder, you have lied, you have been disobedient to your parents, you have stolen money from your business, and God says if your repent and come to me I\u2019ll wash the slate clean, you can get rid of it all.\u201d<\/p>\n
