\u2014On his radio show, echoed right-wing pastor Franklin Graham<\/a>\u2018s opposition to a state law that requires schools to teach about LGBTQ history. Graham said that a New Jersey mayor opposing the law \u201cis absolutely right\u2026 This is an affront to God and I don\u2019t believe that the schools have the right to teach our children something that is an affront to God.\u2026 God made us and created us, he made us male and female so that we could carry on the population, so that we have children and that we would increase, and homosexuality goes against God\u2019s plan for the human race.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2014Opposed Illinois\u2019s HB 246<\/a>, which would require teaching LGBTQ-inclusive U.S. history (i.e., not omitting figures including Alan Turing and Bayard Rustin), Starnes said, \u201cI\u2019m confused here why the boys and girls need to learn about people simply because of\u2026 who they go to bed with. I mean, that\u2019s really what this is about. I mean, we\u2019re talking about highlighting people based on their sexuality. I mean, where are the heterosexual history classes, I mean, if you\u2019re going to go down that path?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2014Said<\/a> the Frito-Lay company was supporting \u201cgodless sickos\u201d when it issued a limited-release rainbow Dorito.<\/p>\n

\u2014Attacked<\/a> a lesbian kiss on network television, calling it \u201cstuff that would make Mickey Mouse blush.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2014Mocked<\/a> trans soldiers: \u201cWithin the ranks of the greatest fighting force known to mankind\u2014the baby\u2019s daddy could also be the baby\u2019s momma.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2014On business owners<\/a> who are simply told they must serve the public equally said, \u201cIt\u2019s hard to imagine a time in American history where Christians were treated with such disregard and shuttled off to reeducation camps so they can be deprogrammed…. First, the LGBT activists came for the flower shops and the photographers. Then, they came for the bakers. And unless we draw a line in the sand, they may one day come for you and your business.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2014When the Supreme Court overturned the so-called Defense of Marriage Act, responded: \u201cSupreme Court overrules God<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2014Claimed that a same-sex wedding ceremony performed live on network TV was \u201csick,\u201d \u201cbashing God,\u201d and \u201ccramming a social agenda down our throats.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

\u2014Suggested condemnation of anti-LGBTQ rhetoric is a sign of the \u201cend of days.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

\u2014Agreed with talk show host who suggests man-on-dog marriage will follow from same-sex marriage. \u201cWhen you redefine marriage, that means anything goes<\/a>,\u201d answered Starnes.<\/p>\n

\u2014Mocked transgender and gender nonconforming people by writing<\/a>: \u201cI\u2019d love to be a fly on the wall at the pearly gates on rapture day when all these folks have to explain why they\u2019ve got extra parts the original models didn\u2019t have.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2014Crudely condemned potential transgender beauty pageant contestants by writing, \u201cin the future some of you will have little boy parts.<\/a>\u201c<\/p>\n

\u2014Denigrated transgender woman as a \u201cburly man wearing a dress<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2014Refers to public schools as \u201cindoctrination centers\u201d for marriage equality<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u2014Claims President Obama is turning America into pre-Nazi Germany<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u2014When activists and journalists made note of a pastor\u2019s own anti-LGBTQ rhetoric, ultimately leading that pastor to drop out of a planned prayer at the presidential inauguration, Starnes accused his critics of being \u201canti-Christian Heterophobic bigots<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2014Took to Twitter one afternoon for the sole purpose of mocking attendees at a Gay Pride Parade<\/a>; in separate instance, Starnes wrote<\/a>: \u201cIt\u2019s Gay Pride Day in Brooklyn and our local children\u2019s park looks like the bar scene in Star Wars. And you won\u2019t believe what they\u2019re doing on the monkey bars.<\/p>\n
