\u2014Praised<\/a> Alabama’s state Department of Finance and Administration’s new rule that it will no longer allow residents to use \u201cX\u201d instead of male or female on state-issued driver\u2019s licenses or identification cards. This is a reversal of a policy that had been in place since 2010.<\/p>\n

\u2014Intended<\/a> to insult influencer Dylan Mulvaney and Bud Light with a transphobic tweet.<\/p>\n

\u2014Claimed<\/a> in her announcement for governor: \u201cI took on the media, the radical left and their \u2018cancel culture,\u2019 and I won.\u201d Sanders set records for avoiding the media, according to The Washington Post: \u201cOn her watch, the principal function of a press secretary\u2014representing the White House in media briefings\u2014all but ceased to exist. The White House\u00a0set a record in January for the longest stretch in modern history without a news briefing, 41 days<\/a>. It then\u00a0set a record<\/a>, 42 days, in March, followed by a third streak, reaching 94 days\u2026.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2014Sanders\u00a0spread misinformation as White House press secretary, including\u00a0defending<\/a>\u00a0President Trump’s tweeted ban of transgender military members: \u201cThis is a very expensive and disruptive policy and based on consultations he’s had with his national security team came to the conclusion that it erodes military readiness and cohesion and made the decision based on that… it is based on a military decision.\u201d It was widely reported<\/a> that the tweeted ban took military leaders by surprise. No evidence was produced to support Sanders’ claim that transgender military service erodes readiness or cohesion.<\/p>\n

\u2014Defended<\/a> the Trump administration’s support of LGBTQ discrimination, including fighting to the Supreme Court to deny service to LGBTQ customers. Sanders<\/a> was asked: \u201cThe lawyer for the solicitor general’s office for the administration said today in the Supreme Court if it would be legal, possible for a baker to put a sign in his window saying we don’t bake cakes for gay weddings. Does the president agree that that would be OK?\u201d\u00a0\u201dThe president certainly supports religious liberty and that’s something he talked about during the campaign and has upheld since taking office,\u201d Sanders replied. When pressed on whether that included support for signs that deny service to gay people, Sanders responded, \u201cI believe that would include that.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2014Served<\/a> as spokesperson for\u00a0the\u00a0American Principles Fund, a Super PAC that has attacked candidates for not speaking out strongly enough against marriage equality. The Fund is a spinoff of the American Principles Project, a conservative organization founded by National Organization For Marriage (NOM)\u00a0cofounder and Federal Marriage Amendment author Robert George. The Fund has been largely financed by Sean Fieler<\/a>, a major NOM donor. The American Principles Fund placed ads targeting Wyoming Senate candidate Liz Cheney, who opposed marriage equality, and whose sister is an out lesbian.<\/p>\n

\u2014T<\/a>hreatened pro-LGBTQ candidates<\/a> that their support was on \u201cthe wrong side\u201d and \u201ccould be fatal\u201d: \u201cJobs and economy and spending are still the most important, but a candidate\u2019s position on social issues such as life and marriage sends an extremely strong message about their values. That\u2019s why taking the wrong side could be fatal.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2014Framed marriage equality and other social matters as an \u201cattack\u201d on \u201cvalues\u201d<\/a>: \u201cThe unilateral truce on social issues within the GOP is bad for our party and wrong for our country\u2014our core values are under attack, and we will stand for those who stand for what\u2019s right,\u201d she said in a statement.<\/p>\n

\u2014Shared a Facebook post<\/a> in which an anti-LGBTQ writer criticizes football player Michael Sam for coming out as gay, saying the author made \u201cgreat observations.\u201d<\/p>\n
