\u2014Under his proposed budget<\/a> for the U.S. Congress, the Trump Administration offered to cut HIV and AIDS research funding under the National Institutes of Health (NIH).<\/p>\n

\u2014Trump Administration erases<\/a> the LGBTQ community from The National Survey of Older Americans Act Participants and the Annual Program Performance Report for Centers for Independent Living, key surveys that are used to help provide care to American seniors\u2014including disability, transportation, and caregiver support needs.<\/p>\n

\u2014Holding a 0% congressional rating from the Human Rights Campaign, Rep. Price voted<\/a> in favor of a Federal Marriage Amendment that would have denied same-sex couples the right to marry, voted against LGBTQ-inclusive hate crimes legislation, voted against the repeal of the military\u2019s discriminatory \u201cdon\u2019t ask, don\u2019t tell\u201d policy, and voted against the Employment Nondiscrimination Act, which aimed to provide nondiscrimination protections to LGBTQ employees.<\/p>\n

\u2014Insisted<\/a> legislation designed to protect LGBTQ people from hate crimes was really \u201cthought crimes\u201d legislation, and bemoaned its manner of passage as an \u201cabsolute disgrace.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2014When a rabbi who had previously blamed Hurricane Sandy on marriage equality asked Rep. Price if Congress could consider the \u201ctremendous medical health impact and economic impact\u201d of being LGBTQ, Price agreed that<\/a> \u201cthe consequences of activity that has been seen as outside the norm are real and must be explored completely and in their entirety prior to moving forward with any social legislation that would alter things.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2014Condemned<\/a> the repeal of \u201cdon\u2019t ask, don\u2019t tell\u201d for turning the military into \u201ca testing ground for social policy,\u201d and called its manner of passage \u201cshameful.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2014Spoke at a \u201cTake Back America\u201d conference<\/a> where attendees were lectured on subjects such as \u201cHow To Counter The Homosexual Extremist Movement.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2014Excused<\/a> comments comparing being gay to pedophilia and bestiality as simple \u201cChristian beliefs regarding proper sexual ethics.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2014Called<\/a> federal guidelines on transgender equality \u201cabsurd\u201d and a \u201cclear invasion of privacy.\u201d<\/p>\n
